Devil May Cry™: The Bloody Palace - board game

It looks like Capcom licensed out an arena style board game based on the Bloody Palace. I haven't finished the rulebook yet but it has high production values and the rulebook seems well laid out, which is always a good sign that the mechanics have been thought through. It's £77 or $99, so it...

    So, photorealism...

@berto It's so easy to forget about the time the game came out. I remember thinking how beautiful DMC was when it came out and you're right, the characters did look very realistic for the time. I'm trying to think of a better looking game at the time and can't come up with one. I'm sure there...

    So, photorealism...

No, the characters in the first game are pretty shallow too, Trish being the stand out. I actually think Lucia is a more fleshed out character in 2 than Dante is. I feel like they tried with Lucia, they just failed to execute. DMC benefits from a better structured and paced plot with trappings...

    So, photorealism...

I was disappointed that DMC3 went so over the top with what Dante did because it was so different from the original game. I enjoyed it for what it was but I always hoped they would make a sequel that was more similar to the original's tone. That said, I don't ever remember thinking that DMC was...

DMC 5 after the events of DMC 2.....? Foolishness...

It's another entry in the DMC franchise. Sequels do not have to share continuity (e.g. Final Fantasy), they can simply he the continuation of a franchise. I suspect DmC's existence as a reboot is part of the reason Capcom stated that DMC5 is a direct sequel to DMC4 rather than just stating that...

    Who is "Vitale"? Theories?

Assuming the name is correct, I wonder if it's a reference to elan vital. If so, he could be alive despite something fatal happening to him which has given him his powers. For example, he could have been the attempted sacrifice in a demonic summoning ritual, similar to what Arkaham sacrificed...

    Devil Arms and Robot Arms

I'm curious if Nero will have different guns and devil arms (weapons) to go with his different devil breakers. I wonder if the devil breakers are meant to be his version of styles, which would be great, or if they will be an excuse to have less guns and devil arms for him. Alternitely...

DMC 5 after the events of DMC 2.....? Foolishness...

DmC was a sequel to DMC4 and it was also a reboot. DMC5 is a direct sequel to DMC4, meaning it continues with the characters, world , and story elements of DMC4 and ignores DmC, the most recent entry in the series (ignoring 4SE). I think they were trying to be clear which game it was a sequel to...

    So, photorealism...

This concerns me but as long as they remember that when push comes to shove gameplay should win, it'll be fine. The quest for more realistic animations while keeping tight gameplay has resulted in many clunky feeling games. I think it's worst when it's painfully obvious at times while completely...

Dmc 5 is here. Lets speculate :)

It's also possible, what with the judeochristian symbolism, that V is the child of Lady without a father. In other words, the child of the virgin Mary. I'm going to be really annoyed if that's the case though. Had they developed that then surr, but they didn't. Instead it's really against...

Dmc 5 is here. Lets speculate :)

I wouldn't be surprised if Vergil is the villian and the V in the title of DMC5. We already had strong evidence that he is the one who ripped off Nero's arm and his coming back as a pure demon, his humanity having been slain, seems plausible. It would also make sense why he isn't one of the...

Dmc 5 is here. Lets speculate :)

I could see that. Through magic it could get staff sized to or act staff sized. That said, DMC loves swords as the primary weapon for most of it's protagonists and their supporting crew. Lady is the only exception, unless you want to include Gloria's knives. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I...

Dmc 5 is here. Lets speculate :)

While it could be a staff, DMC trends to stylize weapons as larger so it looks rather short and thing. My guess is it's the scabbard of a rapier. If so, it means that V is left handed. If it's viewing the edge of the scabbard, it could even be a katana but I'm skeptical.

    about Dante's character devlopment

I'm interested whether they will ever try to explain how Sparda died. It seems pretty crucial and I read some theories in a tread from 2006 but none really work that well. It's a huge can of worms which is probably best left alone unless they decide to do more origins stuff. That said, I think...

    about Dante's character devlopment

This is a point that confuses me since Mundus was sealed by Sparta 2000 years ago. This means either than Dante is over 2000 years old in the first game or that Mundus didn't directly kill his mother. According to the DMC intro, Sparta reigned over the human world until he died and they did not...
