I had a whole response written out and just deleted it instead - I got the feeling it was all intended to bait rather than get a proper point across. I've done the whole "reasonable staff" thing so many times in the past, appealing to the better nature of members, and it's yielded nothing.

In his defence, he doesn't know the reasons I left almost a year ago or indeed the full story about anything so he could only respond with the limited knowledge he has. But a private conversation would have been far more appropriate given that I think there's more to it than a simple thread he took offence to.
